I wasn’t even looking for this dress when I fell in love! Does that sound familiar to you? I think those are some of my best and favorite purchases. I wasn’t out searching for the BEST leopard dress. It just found me and it is perfect!
You may not think that animal print is “for you” but it can be worn well and make you feel amazing. You just have to find the right piece or pieces for your closet. Animal print can definitely be a FAIL! Here are a few things to keep in mind when you spot a piece you may want to add to your wardrobe.
Start subtle if you aren’t sure
Accessorize; a pair of earrings or a small bag or clutch would be a great way to incorporate animal print and boost any outfit!
Don’t forget your feet
A great pair of snakeskin heels or booties will help you take a bigger step into the animal print fashion world! Some of my favorites are below!
Pick the perfect pattern
Not all patterns are created equal. I repeat…not all patterns are created equal! This is going to be a subjective decision, but I tend to gravitate towards patterns with soft edges and muted colors. Some of the patterns can be harsh! Also, stay away from “animal” prints that don’t look like an animal at all…i.e. a hot pink and brown spotted “leopard” tank. Yuck!
Stay Classy!
The right pattern will help with this, but remember to select a design that is more modest or conservative. Animal print should not be the go-to for your most revealing top or skirt you wear out to a bar or evening event. I think if animal print is combined with a style that is overly “sexy” it can go wrong really fast!
